So, there's this new show starting on Fox8 tonight...
It's 9:00pm and I'm watching the premiere of a new-to-paytv (cable) series.

The synopsis for the pilot episode reads:

"Sam's brother Dean, whom he has not seen since he went to college, shows up in the middle of the night and tells him their father is missing while on a hunting trip."

Sounds okay but I hope it doesn't centre around a family of moose hunters or something.

You may have heard of it. It's called Supernatural and stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. Jared is from Gilmore Girls but I have no idea who the hell this Jensen Ackles bloke is!

*grin*

Seriously, you have no idea how excited I am to see Supernatural on TV again. It's ridiculous. I mean, I own all the DVDs and I can watch them anytime I please yet there is something totally different about seeing it 'live' on the telly. *sigh* It's like it's 2006 all over again! \O/

Oooh, and the best part? It's on Fox8 at 8:30pm and then it (the same episode) is repeated on Fox8+2 at 10:30. Score! And sandwiched in between those two airings is an episode of Smallville at 9:30. Looks like my Friday nights are planned out for me for the foreseeable future. *happy sigh*

Supernatural? Oh yes, rings a bell. I think I've heart of it. Jensen Ackles? Didn't he have a party in One Tree Hill? No? *g*

Of course! How could I forget? He plays one of the brothers on One Tree Hill. Lucas Scott, right? ;)

Hmm, perhaps he was in Gilmore Girls too. ;)

Actually I'm surprised he wasn't. The more I think about it the more I realise just how many of the same people Jensen and Jared have worked with over the years without actually working with each other until Supernatural.

the synopsis would sound so much better if they didn't include the words 'on a hunting trip' because seriously - if you didn't know the premise of the show 'on a hunting trip' realyl doesn't grasp you.. although 'dads missing' kinda does

I kind of laughed when I read the synopsis but then I was disappointed for pretty much the same reason you said. If you didn't know anything about the series it would be hard to work out the connection between that synopsis and the name of the show.

Luckily I stayed awake long enough to discover it was pretty good.
The brothers, Sam and Dean, are very pretty. *nods*
Actually, they look a bit like those two assholes from Texas on your icon. *giggles*

This new show, Supernatural? Sounds kinda lame. Watch the news, it's what the aliens want you to do ;D

I wish we had cable so badly right now, I mean, how often do I get to see a Supernatural/Smallville sandwich?

Thanks, I did enjoy it. Only another 40 minutes until I get to watch it again. I'm on to Smallville at the moment - Jensen's on the screen as I type.

Haha - that is one of the lines that is always with me... every so often as I plug my iPod into my car stereo I wonder if Sam ever tried to get one for Dean... lol I mean Sam's got to have iTUnes on his laptop, right? lol

I very much enjoyed the first viewing the evening and I'm on to the second one now. (Dean just fell in the mud. Ha!)
I really am lucky because prior to tonight, the 15 or 16 times I've seen the pilot episode over the past three years, obviously just hasn't been enough. :D

Yep, that's the one. The three of them play triplets who travel around the country playing basketball. Also stars Steve, Christian, Tom, Mike, Sophia... Oh, hang on. I think I'm getting confused now.

Thanks for the rec. I'll take a look. For some reason I haven't got around to reading any of the big bangs this year.

i totally know what you mena about seeign supernatural live on tv ... i always wish that they put re-runs on when the season finishes ... but they don't (well not on free-to-air at any rate) *sighs*

It was a most enjoyable way to spend a Friday night :D

I just hope channel ten put on the new season on it's regular channel and not Ten HD like Smallville, Veronica Mars and Battlestar Galactica. :(
At least, if they put it own soon after it airs in the USA, it won't have to compete with Big Brother. *rolls eyes*

I wish I had pay TV. My brother saw the ad for it while he was away on work experience and I was like damn I wanna see the ad Lol.

And Smallville. God I miss that show. I'm still trying to save up so I can buy the seasons Lol.

I've never really watched Smallville until I caught a couple of episodes over the past few weeks. I know own a couple of the DVDs and I'm kind of loving it. :)

It took me a while to get into and I did a few seasons in so once I got the hang of what was going on, I loved it.

I was going to laybye the seasons but I should probably save some money to give to my friend for the Panic! concert Lol.
